504 Plans and IEP Structures

shutterstock_80708305The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 insures that if your child has special needs or requires additional accommodations in school, you as a parent have the power to make sure your child’s education is taken seriously by the school. Oftentimes, parents run into some resistance with school staff and faculty and are dissuaded from obtaining an individualized education plan (IEP) and/or Section 504 plans which protect your student from overzealous school administrators. I can assist parents with the language and terms of these plans by attending annual 504 plans with parents and making sure the school takes each and every parental concern into account and drafts the plan to the parents’ satisfaction. Call my office today and schedule your appointment with me to discuss your child’s upcoming 504 meetings or IEP conferences.
